For touring production, that means walkie batteries, spare IEM transmitters, a multimeter, gaff, a handful of XLR and TRS spares, and whatever else your crew needs within arm's reach during a show. Nothing is getting borrowed by another department and not coming back, because it locks.

At 7 kg and 400 mm deep, this drawer has real mass and real depth before you put anything in it. That matters at two points: when you're speccing the rack case it lives in, and when your crew is rolling it across a loading dock. Confirm your rack case interior depth can swallow 400 mm plus the drawer's front panel clearance plus any rear cable management. On the positive side, it draws zero power, so it won't compete for outlets or add heat, and it contributes meaningful low ballast weight that can actually help stabilize a tall touring rack.

This drawer makes sense in a large multi-rack touring system where you have the height to give away and a genuine need to keep a complete spare kit co-located with the audio rig. If you're building a four or six-space IEM rack for a club residency or a fly date, surrendering 6U to storage is almost certainly the wrong call — a 2U or 3U drawer, or no drawer at all, will serve you better.
