About the Shure ADTQ

The Shure ADTQ packs four stereo channels of Axient Digital PSM into a single rack space - the densest IEM transmission Shure makes. Wideband digital RF, Dante and analog inputs per channel, and Wireless Workbench control make it the monitor-world backbone for arena-scale channel counts. One ADTQ replaces a full rack of analog transmitters plus their combiner losses.

The ADTQ is Shure's densest IEM transmitter: four complete stereo Axient Digital PSM channels in a single rack unit. If you are running a Broadway pit, a major touring IEM rig, or any situation where channel count is real and rack space is finite, this is the box that changes the math. Each of those four channels is a full Axient Digital transmitter with wideband RF — not a compromise, not a stripped-down version. One 1U slot covers what would have been a significant portion of a traditional analog rack.

The dual EtherCon Dante ports give you primary and redundant network audio paths, which means your input signal can arrive without a single analog cable touch if your console infrastructure supports it — useful when the stage and monitor world are separated by a long run. The eight combo analog inputs are there when you need them, and the single BNC RF output feeds into your antenna distribution as normal. At 35 watts typical draw, four transmitters in 1U is genuinely efficient. The RJ45 control port connects to Wireless Workbench, so frequency coordination, gain, and RF monitoring all live in the same software window as the rest of your Axient system.

This unit belongs in a rig where you are already committed to the Axient Digital ecosystem and where the $9,460 price makes sense relative to the density it buys you. If you are running four or more IEM channels and have Dante infrastructure — or plan to — the ADTQ is almost certainly more efficient than the equivalent number of single-channel units and their associated rack space and cabling overhead. If your needs are two channels, a single stereo transmitter will serve you at a fraction of the cost. And if you are not already in Wireless Workbench-managed territory, the full value of this box is harder to realize.

In the rack

  • Plan your antenna distribution before you rack this unit — one BNC output feeds all four channels through your combiner or distro, so your RF architecture needs to be spec'd for the combined output before load-in.
  • With Dante Primary and Secondary both available, connect both to separate switches on separate network legs; a single cable pull will not take down your IEM feeds mid-show.
  • Four stereo channels sharing one rack space means your patch list at load-in is dramatically shorter, but label your Dante channels in Workbench before the session starts — four channels of unlabeled Dante feeds in a busy network are easy to mis-route under pressure.
  • At 240mm depth this sits within normal shallow-rack territory, but confirm your rear-panel clearance for both EtherCon connectors and the BNC before committing a specific rack to this unit.
